Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center

Joint Commission – Our Lady of the Lake was recognized as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. The award recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions.

ICU Design Citation Award –The design of the intensive care units (ICUs) of the Heart & Vascular Institute was recognized by the Society of Critical Care Medicine (and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Institute of Architects Academy on Architecture for Health). The award is for the most innovative and humanitarian a patient-centered design in the United States.

Pediatric Residency Accreditation – The Pediatric Residency Program earned Accreditation with Commendation by the American College of Graduate Medical Education for “demonstrating substantial compliance with the ACGME’s program and quality standards.

Top Ranked by U.S. News & World Report – Nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report for the past four years as ranked among the best hospitals in Louisiana and as a top-performer in Baton Rouge. The annual listing recognizes hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients

Improved Patient Care through Medical Education – Our Lady of the Lake was selected as one of 32 teaching hospitals to participate in this national initiative.

Consumer Choice Award – In 2014, for the 16th consecutive year, Our Lady of the Lake was selected by the National Research Corporation as the Consumer Choice Award winner for the hospital with the highest overall quality and image in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area.

CareChex (Comparion) – Recognized as Top 100 in nation and #1 in Louisiana for medical excellence in GI hemorrhage and stroke care, Top 10 percent in nation and state and #1 in market for neurosurgery, stroke care, GI hemorrhage and vascular surgery; Top 100 in nation and #1 in Louisiana for patient safety in vascular surgery and neurosurgery.

Magnet Designation – For the second consecutive time, Our Lady of the Lake was awarded Magnet® status for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credential Center’s Magnet Recognition Program®. Only the top eight percent of hospitals achieve Magnet status.

Bariatric Center Accreditation – Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center has received full accreditation as a comprehensive bariatric facility by the new Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).

Consumer Reports’ Best Hospital – Our Lady of the Lake was named as one of the 12 best academic medical centers in the U.S. for reducing unnecessary hospital readmissions by patients.

Department of Health and Hospitals’ Wellspot – Our Lady of the Lake and Our Lady of the Lake College received WellSpot designation by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. A WellSpot is a place, space or organization that has implemented voluntary changes to make healthy living easier for Louisiana citizens.

Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency Gold Award – Received the Gold Recognition, the highest level achievable, for outstanding voluntary efforts to promote organ donation, by LOPA and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.

Woman’s Choice – Our Lady of the Lake was selected for the 2013 Women’s Choice Award for being voted one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by women for a second consecutive year.

Becker’s Hospital Review – Our Lady of the Lake was named to the list of "100 Hospitals with Great Heart Programs" by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Joint Commission Accreditation – Achieving accreditation from The Joint Commission recognizes that OLOL complies with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care and is committed to continually improving care. This was previously earned in 2010.

American Heart Association and American Stroke Association – Recognized for excellence and quality in stroke care with the Get With the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. 

Top Ranked by U.S. News & World Report – Nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report for the past three years as a number one hospital in the Baton Rouge Metro Area. This was also earned in 2012

Best Hospital in Region – Recognized by Comparion as one of America's Top Quality Hospitals based on best performance in various measures of quality relating to process of care, outcomes, and patient satisfaction.

Hospital of the Year – Louisiana State Nurses Association Award earned by OLOL in 2013, 2011, 2010, 2008 for hospitals over 100 beds.

American College of Surgeons – Designated as the region’s only Level 2 Trauma Center, ensuring the best possible care for seriously injured patients.

Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – OLOL was selected by the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers to participate in National Initiative IV for utilizing medical education to improve the quality of patient care.

American College of Cardiology Foundation – Received the Platinum Performance Achievement Award that recognizes OLOL’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients.

Chest Pain Accreditation – The OLOL Heart Center has earned Chest Pain Accreditation, Cycle IV, which is the highest cycle awarded. OLOL is the only hospital in south Louisiana to achieve this designation. This was also earned in 2009.

National Cancer Institute Community Cancer Centers Program – OLOL is one of only 30 U.S. cancer centers selected to work with the National Cancer Institute Community Cancer Centers Program in 2013, 2010 and 2009.

Center of Blue Distinction for Cardiac Care – recognition form Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana for excellence in cardiovascular care. This was also earned in 2009.

Lung Cancer Alliance – OLOL’s Cancer Center, in partnership with Mary Bird Perkins, was designated as Center of Excellence for Lung Cancer Screening.

St. Francis Medical Center

US News & World Report (2014 - 2015) - St. Francis Medical Center was ranked #3 in the State of Louisiana as a Best Hospital, recognized as a Best Hospital in Northeast Louisiana, and recognized as high performing in two specialties: Orthopedics, and Neurology/Neurosurgery.

Again named one of Louisiana's Top Hospitals by Louisiana Life Magazine - Organizations that are recognized are evaluated based on their proven effectiveness, sustainability, innovation, integrated processes and tracked results.

St. Francis Medical Center received the Mission: Lifeline Silver Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer from severe heart attacks.

St. Francis Medical Center was selected Delta Style's Best of the Delta for Best Hospital and Best Rehab for 2014.

Recognized as a Louisiana Safe Sleep Champion Hospital by Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals ‐ Office of Public Health ‐ Bureau of Family Health.

March of Dimes – Recognized by March of Dimes and Louisiana Hospital Association for achievement in reducing the number of early elective deliveries and cesarean births performed before 39 completed weeks of pregnancy to help improve Louisiana’s birth outcomes and reduce premature birth.

American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate for a quality diabetes self-management education program was awarded to the St. Francis Diabetes & Nutrition Center.

National Quality Measures for Breast Centers – The Kitty DeGree Breast Health Center was re-designated as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence.

Joint Commission – St. Francis recognized as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures.

CareChex Hospital Quality Ratings – Ranked first in the state and market for Overall Surgical Care in terms of quality care.

Leapfrog Grades for Patient Safety – St. Francis improved its quality grade from Leapfrog from C to B.

Wellspot designation from DHH – The Department of Healthand Hospital recognized St. Francis as a Level Two WellSpot for meeting wellness benchmarks like being tobacco-free, breastfeeding friendly and offering healthy menu choices.

Chest Pain Accreditation – St. Francis received full Chest Pain Accreditation with PCI from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.

COLA Accredited (College of Labs) - St. Francis Healthy Kids Clinic

American College of Radiology (ACR) Certified received for ultrasound, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine – St. Francis Medical Center-Downtown, St. Francis Medical Center – North and St. Francis Community Health Center.

Fit-Friendly Organization - recognized by American Heart Association (AHA) as an employer that goes above and beyond when it comes to team members' health by creating a culture of physical activity in the workplace. This includes providing walking programs for staff complete with walking routes and tracking tools.

American Diabetes Association (ADA) Recognized Facility - The St. Francis Diabetes & Nutrition Center at the St. Francis Community Health Center meets certain standards of care required by ADA for this recognition. All clinical staff members are Certified Diabetes Educators.

College of American Pathologists Accredited - The Respiratory Care Arterial Blood Gas Labs at both the North and Downtown campuses of St. Francis Medical Center, as well as Clinical Labs at all three campuses of St. Francis (North, Downtown and CHC).

American Association of Blood Banks Accredited - St. Francis Blood Bank at St. Francis Medical Center Downtown.

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center

Joint Commission and American Stroke Association – Recognized as a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence. This was previously earned in 2008.

Joint Commission – Recognized for achieving Advanced Certification for Joint Replacement.

Level III Louisiana Performance Excellence Award – This is the highest recognition given by the Louisiana Quality Foundation. Lourdes was awarded this for outstanding results in leadership, strategic planning, process management, measurement analysis and customer and workforce focus. This award was also earned in 2011.

Press Ganey – Lourdes earned the Guardian of Excellence Award by reaching the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction, employee and physician engagement or clinical quality performance.

Consumer Choice Award – In 2013 Our Lady of Lourdes was selected by the National Research Corporation as the Consumer Choice Award winner for the hospital with the highest overall quality and image in the Lafayette area.

American Heart Association and American Stroke Association – For the fourth consecutive year (2010-2013), the AHA recognized Lourdes with its Stroke Guidelines Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award for adopting nationally accepted standards of care.

American Heart Association and American Stroke Association – Recognized Lourdes with its Stroke Guidelines Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award for adopting nationally accepted standards of care. This was previously earned in 2009 and 2012.

NRC Picker – Lourdes earned the Path to Excellence Award (No. 1 in Nation). The award recognizes hospitals that are identified by patients for high quality care. Also awarded to Lourdes in 2010.

St. Elizabeth Hospital

Joint Commission Accreditation – Achieving accreditation from The Joint Commission recognizes that St. Elizabeth complies with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care and is committed to continually improving care.

Truven Healthcare – Healthcare Advantage Award for Excellence in Performance Efficiency    

Louisiana Quality Foundation – Louisiana Performance Excellence Award, Level III for achieving quality excellence. Was previously honored in 2011.

Morehead Associates – For achieving the 99th Percentile for team member satisfaction.

Press Ganey – St. Elizabeth earned the Guardian of Excellence Award by reaching the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction, employee and physician engagement or clinical quality performance.
   
American Academy of Respiratory Care – St. Elizabeth’s Asthma Education Program was the only program in Louisiana and only one of four in the country to be certified for Asthma Self-Management Education (ASME).

American Board of Registered Electro-diagnostic Technologists – Received accreditation for the Neurology Lab. St. Elizabeth’s was the only lab in Louisiana to achieve this certification.

Heart Hospital of Lafayette

American Heart Association and American Stroke Association – Recognized Lourdes with its Stroke Guidelines Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award for adopting nationally accepted standards of care. This was previously earned in 2009 and 2012.

Franciscan Missionaries Of Our Lady Health System


Path to Excellence Award – The Health System, on behalf of the Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group, was named a recipient of the National Research Corporation’s 2014 Path to Excellence Award for the second consecutive year of satisfaction of patients at FMOLHS-affiliated clinics.

National Business Group on Health – For the third consecutive year, the health system was recognized as the Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyle for promoting healthy work environments and encouraging workers to live healthier lifestyles. The health system was one of only 20 companies honored with the platinum award as a Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles®.
