Senior Companion Program

Our Lady of the Lake's Senior Companion Program is a federally funded program that offers respite care to the frail elderly who are homebound and to persons 21 years and older who are disabled.

Volunteers

The Senior Companion Program is comprised of volunteers ages 60 and older who receive a small stipend for volunteering four hours a day, 20 hours a week. Volunteers' duties include monitoring the safety of their clients, assisting with daily living activities and preparing light meals. Volunteers also receive mileage reimbursement, paid holidays, sick leave, annual leave, paid training and an annual physical exam.
