OLOL Earns Platinum Performance Achievement Award for Heart Attack Care 01/25/2013
OLOL has received the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s NCDR ACTION Registry–GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award and is one of only 164 hospitals in the nation to do so. The award recognizes OLOL’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients.
OLOL patients are treated with the high standards of care outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations. ACTION Registry–GWTG is a partnership between the American College of Cardiology Foundation and the American Heart Association with partnering support from the American College of Emergency Physicians, Society of Chest Pain Centers and the Society of Hospital Medicine. To receive the ACTION Registry–GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award, a hospital must consistently follow treatment guidelines for eight consecutive quarters and meet a performance standard of 90 percent for specific performance measures.
OLOL is also recognized as the only level-three accredited chest pain center in south Louisiana by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and is partnered with The American Heart Association’s Capital Area division (AHA) for the My Heart My Life Program to promote wellness, prevention and education around heart disease and other heart-related illnesses.
