Cancer treatment often brings
side effects such as fatigue, nausea, anxiety and depression. It was once
believed that rest and inactivity were the best approach to dealing with these
side effects, but new research has shown that movement is essential when it
comes to combating these physical consequences.
Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center is dedicated to offering the best cancer
care available. CancerFit is modeled after a national program directed by
physical therapists, occupational therapists and nurses. It is designed to
specifically benefit each individual as they work closely with a physical or
occupational therapist and then progress to a group setting led by specialized
trainers.
