Give the Gift of Life This Holiday Season
Are you tired of the commercialism around the holidays and ready to give a truly meaningful gift? Since someone needs blood every three seconds, Our Lady of the Lake's Blood Donor Center is always in need. Solely relying on volunteer donors for blood supply, OLOL recruits, collects, tests and distributes more than 60 percent of the blood transfused in the entire local community.
Blood supply is often low during the holiday season, probably because of busy schedules. However, the need for blood unfortunately never stops. It doesn't take a break for the holidays, so hospital patients still need that blood.
Blood donors do more than give blood -- they play a key role in the healthcare process, giving the doctors and nurses in our area a tool that helps save lives. If you are willing to give the gift of life this holiday season, please call the Blood Donor Center at (225) 765-8843 to get more information.
