The new Heart and Vascular Tower is a 9-story, 330,000-square-foot building dedicated to heart and vascular treatment that enhances patient care and safety in all aspects important to physicians, healthcare providers and patients and their guests. The building design incorporates elements have been tested and we conducted a research study using our patients and nursing staff to determine the design effect used in the rooms. have historically affected patient and clinical outcomes including:
The patient rooms in the new Heart & Vascular Tower are designed to promote healing in a comforting environment. The large rooms feature floor to ceiling windows allowing enhanced natural light and more room for family and visitors. A state-of-the-art universal patient room design allows for patients to receive varying levels of care in the same setting which helps contribute to better patient safety and comfort, more family interaction and improved access and security.
The 48 intensive care rooms will serve medical, surgical, trauma, brain injury and heart patients in critical care with the best-in-class medical technology, amenities and monitoring capabilities that will give caregivers 360-degree access to patients.
New cardiac catheterization labs including electrophysiology labs and features the most innovative technology and capabilities to ensure smooth patient care for both physicians and nursing staff. The surgical suite features a central sterile core model with large operating rooms and a hybrid operating room. Larger elevators allow for smoother transportation of patients.
Graduate Medical Education
The Tower design incorporates functional space for physicians and residents facilitating proximity to patients and work efficiency. A 75-seat tiered auditorium and conference rooms will host events for resident and graduate medical education training such as morning reports, lectures, live surgical casts and presentations, as well as be useful for other events.
