We were recently one of only 164 hospitals in the nation to receive the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s NCDR ACTION Registry–GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award. The award recognizes OLOL’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients. OLOL patients are treated with the high standards of care outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations. To receive the ACTION Registry–GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology Foundation and the American Heart Association with partnering support from the American College of Emergency Physicians, Society of Chest Pain Centers and the Society of Hospital Medicine, a hospital must consistently follow treatment guidelines for eight consecutive quarters and meet a performance standard of 90 percent for specific performance measures.
In an effort to prevent heart disease, Our Lady of the Lake is partnering with the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association to bring the "My Heart, My Life" program to our patients, guests, team members, and the community. The initiative includes onsite walking paths, teaching gardens, a heart walk, and other healthy initiatves that will be implemented during the first year of the program.

Hybrid Operating Room that allows patients to have more than one heart procedure completed in one surgical setting if needed, reducing return trips to the hospital and time away from work and family.
Monitoring unit, located within the cardiac telemetry unit, that utilizes specialized equipment to measure specific body functions, such as heart rate, and perform diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs). As the machines record the data, it is reviewed by the Heart Center staff in a central location, giving us the ability to watch every patient in the unit for signs of trouble.

So, we offer free public seminars and workshops on heart health to help individuals and families take greater responsibility for their health and prevent heart disease in their future.
