About the Pharmacy Residency Program

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program at Our Lady of the Lake provides residents with an opportunity to deliver, evidence-based, cost-effective care in unit-based and multidisciplinary settings. Leadership and project management skills are honed through participation in practice-based research as well as departmental and organizational quality improvement initiatives. Residents completing the program are prepared to pursue PGY-2 residency training and attain clinical positions in institutional settings.

THE PGY-1 PROGRAM IS A 12-MONTH LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Improvement of the medication use process
  • Provision of evidence-based patient-centered medication therapy management in multidisciplinary settings
  • Leadership and practice management development
  • Enhancement of medication safety and therapeutic outcomes
  • Development of sustainable pharmacy practice and educational models

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS  
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program
  • Provide the following via PhORCAS:
    • Letter of intent
    • Curriculum vitae
    • Three letters of recommendation
    • Academic transcript *pharmacy education only
