Patient Care & Safety

Patient care and safety are our primary concern. There are several ways you as the patient can assist us in our efforts to keep you safe and well cared for.

As a patient, you should always:

• Follow your doctor's instructions.
• Call your nurse if you need assistance.
• Don't attempt any movement or action that could injure you. Instead, request nursing assistance by pressing the nurse-call button on your bedside control or in the bathroom.

Our Lady of the Lake conducts periodic fire and disaster drills. Our team will keep you informed if there is an actual emergency.

Our Lady of the Lake employs security personnel to control hospital traffic and investigate accidents. If you have a security concern, dial 5-8825 from your hospital room phone or (225) 765-8825 from any telephone.
