At Our Lady of the Lake Health and Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Psychiatry Clinics, our highly trained psychiatrists treat everything from emotional problems to mood and psychotic disorders through inpatient and outpatient programs designed to create an encouraging environment for adolescent, and adult patients and their families.

The Family Center physicians and nurse practitioners evaluate and treat psychiatric disorders in children, adolescents and adults. Medication management is provided and recommendations for other treatments are made for a variety of conditions, including:

• Mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorders
• Anxiety, such as panic, social anxiety and generalized anxiety
• Obsessive compulsive disorder
• Psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder
• Stress, such as that due to trauma and grief
• Dementias, such as Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, with and without behavioral issues
• School issues and ADHD
• Specialized treatments, such as medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction and Spravato (esketamine nasal spray) for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) in adults and/or for major depressive disorder (MDD) with acute suicidal ideation or behavior, are available at the O’Donovan location. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of major depression.
