About Us

Ollie Steele Burden Manor (OSBM) is a private pay nursing facility established in 1966 as an affiliate of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Ollie Steele Burden Manor is a licensed 174-bed facility that is designed to provide for many levels of care, including the most complex physical health issues.

Our home includes wood floors and virtual fireplaces in the dining rooms. The lovely living rooms are accomodated with flat screen televisions and access to courtyards that show the beauty of our landscaping and nature for all to enjoy.

Skilled Nursing Care

Short Term Stay

• Rehab to Home
• Physical, occupational and speech therapy 5 days a week
• Customized therapy program based on each patient's abilities, needs and goals
• Nautilus strength-training equipment to safely achieve faster results
• iN2L computer system to work on memory, balance, fine motor skills or just making therapy more fun

Long Term Stay

• Respite Care (short-term stay not skilled)
• Primary care physician and nurse practitioner visits
• Pharmacy delivery service
• Physical, speech and occupational therapy
• Family support services (on-site social worker)
• Nutritional consulting services by a registered dietician
• Dental consulting services come to the facility
• Beauty/barber services on site
• Maintenance, housekeeping and laundry services
• Daily activities coordinated by Registered Activity Director
• On-site worship services including Daily Mass

Admissions Procedure

Each resident at Ollie Steele Burden Manor must be admitted by a licensed physician and remain under the supervision of a physician who is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.

Applicants for admission are assessed by one of our professional staff to determine if their needs can be met by OSBM.

Skilled Care

• Patients admit from the hospital after a 3 midnight stay
• Tell your hospital case manager you choose Ollie Steele (if chosen)
• Ollie's Marketing Liasion will arrange your stay and paperwork
• Ollie checks all Medicare/insurance benefits (First 20 Medicare days pay in full)

Long-Term Care

• Ollie's Marketing Liaison will coordinate your paperwork and admission process
• Ollie only accepts private pay
• We help with long term care insurance paperwork

Amenities

• Spa-like bathing experience includes towel warmers, relaxing music, lighting and aromatherapy
• Dining experience features home style kitchenettes with hot meals of your choice delivered directly to your dining table or your room
• 7 day Selective Menu offers a variety of meal options
• "Anytime" menu offers more breakfast, lunch and dinner items like salads and sandwiches
• Snacks are available 24 hours daily from the Nourishment Center or delivered to your room, if desired
• Private rooms are available
